Mark Foor has been a funeral director in Perry County for many years. During his years as a funeral director, he also served as a youth leader at his church. Mark started volunteering with Shirey Little who is the club leader of the Newport/Greenwood club a few years ago. Mark felt the call of God on his life to go into fulltime ministry in 2008, after going on a missions trip to Haiti. After talking to Shirey, and seeing the need for a club in the West Perry School District, Mark felt he had found his place to begin his ministry. After formulating a plan and gaining access to the West Perry School District and the Carson Long Military Institute, Mark began his fundraising to become a fulltime missionary/staff person for CPYM. After raising the minimum amount needed to start fulltime, Mark began his mission on January 1, 2009. He is very excited to see what God has in store for him in this exciting adventure.
Mark and his wife Melissa, and daughters, Hannah and Emily reside in Newport. They are all looking forward to their new life serving God in a new and exciting way. It was a huge step of faith for Mark and his family to give up his career as a funeral director to become a fulltime missionary. But they know that God is faithfull and will provide for their needs.
"I don't have a sense of needing anything personally. I've learned by not to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I'm just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I've found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am!"
